Paper and Card

For the majority of the paper we stock, we’ll order at SRA2 size, then cut it down to the size we need for printing.  We have three reasons for doing this: it’s cheaper, that’s the size our shelves were made for, and it means we can cut the sheets down to SRA3, allowing us to print full bleed for standard A-sizes on our digital printer.

If you want us to send you a couple of samples, please get in touch at footprint@footprinters.co.uk with the brand, colour and weight you’d like to see.  We’ll send at A5 or A6 for free.  If you want an A6 sample pack of all the colour paper & card, with example printing of all the colour riso inks (exciting!) it’s just £5 + £3 postage.

White paper and card

We stock three types of A3 white paper:

  • Evercopy Plus off white 80gsm,
  • Evercopy Premium bright white in 80gsm and 100gsm

Then in our SRA3 stock:

  • Context Natural off white in 100gsm, 170gsm, 250gsm & 300gsm
  • Context White bright white 100gsm, 170gsm, 250gsm & 300gsm

Coloured paper and card

Evercolour

This lovely pastel paper comes in one weight and size – 80gsm A3.  We stock:

  • pink
  • blue
  • salmon
  • green
  • cream
  • yellow

These are especially gorgeous when paired with the riso inks.  See some examples on this page of our supplier’s website.

Context Colours

We buy Context colours in SRA2 size and normally have nine colours in stock in 170gsm:

  • red
  • pink
  • green
  • azure blue
  • yellow
  • orange
  • birch
  • stone
  • flint

You can see these colours on this page of our supplier’s website.  We also get Birch in 225gsm and 260gsm due to its popularity for classy business and greeting cards.

When we got the metallic gold riso drum, we also had to get some dark papers to do justice to its shimmery beauty.  We usually have Slate (pictured, but a bit more grey-looking in real life!) in 170gsm, and Shiro Raw Black 200gsm for this purpose.

We also usually have three 80gsm Context colours in stock: red, orange and yellow.  These are more expensive than the pastel colours, but very punchy in comparison

Cairn Eco Kraft

Eco Kraft is brown and rough in texture.  It has one side which is darker and warmer in colour, when compared with the other side which is paler and slightly more grey.

It produces an uneven mottled effect when printed on which some of our customers really like as an aesthetic. However, that does also mean that sometimes fine detail or small writing can hard to see, or even lost, so it’s better to go bold with your designs for this paper.

We stock it in 100gsm, 170gsm, 210gsm and 280gsm.

Other papers are available

But it may add significantly to the cost, especially for short runs!  If we don’t stock a paper that you want for your project, we can order it in for you, but we need to charge you for the full ream, even if we don’t use it all for your printing.  It will also likely add between 3 and 10 working days to your order.  Post-Brexit, it may be even more of a wait.  Disappointingly, there aren’t many paper recycling plants in Europe, and none in the UK, so there can be a significant wait when supplies run low.

We get almost all our stock from a very friendly and reliable wholesale supply company called Paperback. If we don’t stock a paper that you’d like to see a sample of, they have a handy contact form on their website for just that purpose.
